What is a CSA

Community Supported Agriculture is an opportunity to receive fresh local produce right from the farm that grows it by paying an upfront investment to the farm. Families and individuals become CSA Members by paying a seasonal membership, which in return gives them a weekly or bi-weekly basket/ bag of produce. CSA is a partnership between farmers and their members that ensures the survival of local farms today and for future generations.

How it works

Our CSA starts approximately early June and goes through late September. Each CSA basket will include 7-10 different varieties of in-season produce. Each Sunday we email our members with a list of the produce scheduled for their basket that week. We provide the flexibility to change out items depending on availability. The cost of our CSA membership is 20% less than what you expect to pay for the same amount of produce at the farmer’s market!

Why our CSA is different

Typical CSA members receive weekly produce predetermined by the farmer, not the member. Our CSA is DIFFERENT THAN THE OTHERS because we give our members options to change items in their basket. Members choose between a weekly or bi-weekly membership with pick up or delivery options.

What's in my CSA

The produce we pack into your basket each week will vary with the rhythms of the growing season. We grow a wide variety of delicious vegetables, fruits and herbs including several heirloom varieties.

Spring Basket Example: Broccoli, Leaf Lettuce, Swiss Chard, Green Onions, Chives, Kohlrabi, Turnips, Snow Peas, Beets, Radishes, Strawberries

Summer Basket Example: Green Beans, Sweet Corn, Tomatoes, Peppers, Cucumbers, Spinach, Summer Squash, Cabbage, Kale, Cantaloupes, Watermelons, Potatoes, Basil

Fall Basket Example: Salad mix, Beets, Turnips, Garlic, Acorn, Butternut, Spaghetti and other Fall Squash, Sweet Potatoes, Rutabagas, Pie Pumpkin

Pick Up & Delivery Options

You can pick up your CSA basket at our farm, at the Clinton Antique Mall, or the Garden House in Farmer City.

Our delivery option makes it convenient for you to have your CSA basket delivered to your home or business. Our delivery option is available within a 10 mile radius of our farm for those who are willing to pay the additional delivery membership cost.

What CSA share is best for me

Short & Sweet Memberships Starting approximately the first of June and ending mid-August. This membership is designed to end at the start of the school year for our busy families.

Premium Memberships Starting approximately the first of June and ending mid-September. The premium membership will include 2 fall mums with the last basket of produce.

Both the Short & Sweet and Premium membersips offer a weekly or bi-weekly option.

Weekly Membership Share (6 or 8 weeks): A full share includes a larger portion of produce and is ideal for a family or a couple that truly enjoys a lot of seasonal, fresh vegetables!

Bi-Weekly Membership Share (12 or 16 weeks): Ideal for households that enjoy only occasional fresh vegetables with less quantity than the full share. It’s also a good option for those who just want to supplement a garden.

Why pay up front and so early

Members are investing in the farm's infrastructure, labor, seeds, equipment, and much more. Planning begins before the current season is even over with seed orders starting in December. Taking memberships in the fall and winter months helps us plan for how many people we will be feeding for the next season. The upfront investment shows your commitment to the CSA and our farm. Our commitment to you begins when the first seeds are planted for growing healthy, delicious and affordable food for you and your family!

What are the member only benefits

Our members may receive other local farm products as bonus items with their basket such as a bottle of honey or a fall garden mum. Our members receive an email newsletter each Sunday that includes recipes, storage and preparation tips to complement their basket that week. Members are the FIRST to hear and see updates about our farm before it is posted on our social media sites. Members will receive special discounts on additional purchases with their basket and CSA bulk discounts on vegetables like tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and sweet corn. Once you have been a member with us, we provide member renewal and referral discounts for the following year!

Payment Options

You can sign up and pay online with PayPal! If paying by check, print the invoice that is emailed to you during signup and mail with your check. We require a 50% deposit. The remaining balance will be due by March 1.

Your membership pays for the full season. The average cost is only $20.50 per week. Our goal is to meet and exceed the per week cost for the value of your share because of your commitment and investment in our farm.

Premium Membership

$334 Weekly Pickup (16 weeks) You will select one of our three pick up locations for picking up your basket each week during operating hours. Clinton Antique Mall pick up is on Tuesdays. Farmer City's Garden House pick up is
